I decided to take a break from blogging today to spend a little time with my family. Rather than writing a devotion for this week, I thought I would share some of my favorite things that I use in my quiet time with the Lord or that I just enjoy. We all get in a rut sometimes and need some fresh ideas or new things to enjoy. I have drunk the same coffee for years, but a friend of mine recently shared her favorite coffee concoction, and I’ve been drinking it ever since! So see, you never know when someone will share something that brings a fresh, new perspective to your life! Here are a few of my favorite things!
In my quiet time, I read Journey, A Woman’s Guide to Intimacy with God, which is a daily devotional magazine published by LifeWay. We get these at our church, but you can order your own here.
I am also reading God Is Faithful, A Daily Invitation into the Father Heart of God by David Wilkerson. This daily devotional reading focuses on God’s heart for us and has been a great source of encouragement and often conviction for me. You can find it on Amazon here.
For my journaling, I use spiral notebooks from Wal-Mart by Class Act Stationery. I am currently journaling in the “Set Sail Collection” by Pink Light Design. I like spirals because I can fold them back, and I love these notebooks because the designs are pretty. They are also very inexpensive (and I write a lot!). Here’s a link to the website that designs the journals.
I am currently hosting a Bible study at my home on Thursday nights. Several ladies and I are studying Beth Moore’s David, Seeking a Heart Like His. We are on Week 3, but, honestly, I already feel like she wrote the study just for me. I have heard God speak something personal to me in every single lesson. I identify with David in so many ways, and I so want to be a woman after God’s own heart! Here’s the link to purchase the Bible study at LifeWay.
My Sunday school class at church is studying The Gospel Project, so I also read those lessons each week. The lessons are more than the traditional Sunday school lessons; they focus on the Christ Connection–how we see Jesus in everything from Genesis to Revelation. I also appreciate the personal application in each lesson. For more information about The Gospel Project, click here.
My Favorite Book
My favorite book I am reading right now is The Book of Mysteries by Jonathan Cahn, New York Times Best-Selling Author of The Harbinger and The Mystery of the Shemitah. Cahn’s new book contains 365 lessons learned from the Scriptures, many times revealing the depths of the Hebrew language and culture in order to make God’s Word come alive in ways many of us have never understood. I literally can’t wait to open this book each day and read the lesson. I have been reading it at the end of my quiet time each day, and every time, God has used this book to confirm some truth that He was already speaking to me that morning. Awesome!! Here’s the link to Cahn’s latest book.
My Favorite Music
My absolute favorite worship music right now is Bethel Music. The songs never fail to take me right into the presence of God. Below you can watch my latest jam.
My Favorite Shirt
Okay, maybe you don’t have a favorite shirt, but I do! I am a jeans and t-shirt kinda girl, and I have found a line of Christian t-shirts that are the softest material and best fit of any other shirts I’ve worn. The company is called Walk in Love, and they are actually having a sale right now! You will love wearing these soft shirts, sharing your faith, and shopping their (almost weekly) sales. Click here to visit and shop at walk in love.
I hope you enjoy knowing, loving, and serving God, and all the many blessings He pours out in our lives! Be blessed!
